Green Gardens guided hike is a great way to explore the contrasting landscapes of Gros Morne National Park. Beginning on the rugged mantle rocks of the Tablelands, we’ll hike through the thick boreal forest where moose are often caught by surprise grazing on the stunted trees. Following a forest path until we reach the lush meadows and volcanic sea stacks of Green Gardens. Its here where we'll spend our afternoon walking the beaches, exploring the shores, caves and learning about the unique geology found here. The rocks here tell a story and our guides are experts are reading them. Exposed mantle, pillow basalt and of course those breathtaking salty sea stacks.
Green Gardens is also the summer grazing area for some local residents sheep and are seen lazing around the fields of wildflowers and fatting up for winter. Its here we will often stop for our lunch while we take a break from hiking to look out into the wild north Atlantic in search of the many whales that pass by this area every year.
