Take a break after a busy day of hiking and exploring Gros Morne with a sunset zodiac cruise through the two connecting fjords of Bonne Bay that make up the aquatic heart of Gros Morne National Park. The evening is the perfect time to get out on the water as the winds die down and the marine life comes out to play and feed before dark. Our evening cruise is a great way to meet other visitors and discuss your trip. Learn from other guests about the best trails to hike tomorrow and what locations are a must to check out.
*This experience takes place in an open Zodiac boat, and depending on weather conditions guests may get lightly sprayed with water as we navigate throughout the fjords and should plan accordingly. This is all part of the fun and a great way to beat the heat after a hard day hiking!!
At 1,805 km2 (697 sq mi), Gros Morne is a big place, bigger then most visitors think, and many of the Park's attractions and activities may be some distance away from your accommodations. So, in true Wild Gros Morne fashion, we've designed our Bonne Bay sunset cruise around the pick up a drop off times for the water taxi that runs between Norris Point and Woody Point. Our south side shuttle picks up guests on the Woody Point dock and transport them to our dock just a 5 minute drive away. After our Bonne Bay sunset cruise guests can be dropped off by Zodiac back to Norris Point or Woody Point. Now thats what we call service!
Our Bonne Bay Sunset Cruise is a slow relaxing 1 1/2 hour cruise, but can sometimes go a bit longer or shorter depending on our group, and any unique wildlife encounters and of course, our famous Newfoundland weather.
The Bonne Bay Sunset Cruise has an easy to moderate difficulty level depending on the weather conditions and your fitness level. Specialty tours can be arranged for groups looking for alternate difficulty levels or extended onshore excursions
As you’ve already heard, Newfoundland weather can be unpredictable and conditions can vary greatly throughout the day. Even in the hottest months of summer in Newfoundland can be quite cool. We suggest guests check the weather and dress accordingly for it. You may want to take a day pack with water and a snack, a rain/waterproof jacket, semi-warm sweater and comfortable sturdy footwear suitable for an open boat adventure.
Weather Cancellation Policy
The weather in Newfoundland can change frequently and at Wild Gros Morne we check the weather more than most people check their Email. Experiences may be adjusted or cancelled if necessary to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.
